Did God create evil? PDF Print E-mail

While you read these lines, I challenge you to allow it to sink deep into your heart and soul because it answers one of the deepest questions in life.

A university professor asked his students this question: Is God the Creator of all things?
One of his students answered yes.

Professor: as long as God is the Creator of all things, did God created evil since evil exists?

Professor: Our actions define who we are, and since God created Evil, then God is Evil. And he walked around proud saying that once again this prouves the myth of the Christian faith.

Project location: Rmeish
Start Date: 12 November 2009
Expected End Date: 12 November 2010

No-one can doubt the passion that the people of  Rmeish have for football. As many as 200 currently play in an assortment of teams. Ranging from fresh-faced seven year olds to fathers in their forties, they compete in matches against neighbouring villages. The players come by car and taxi, as Rmeish is a good kilometer from the ground itself. But such is their dedication, these footballers are happy to come to their ground three or four times a week for training alone.

But this ground is a forlorn sight. Just a quick glance shows you that it is overgrown with weeds and strewn with rocks. The fence and the goalposts are rusty and the unkempt goal-nets flow freely in the wind. Litter has collected close to the edge, with some even spilling onto the ground itself. The sad truth is that despite the village’s enthusiasm for the game, more people could be playing football. Some are put off by the ground’s sub-standard quality and believe they will be hurt if they play on it. Those that do play feel that the teams could be more successful if the ground itself was improved.

Saint Maroun PDF Print E-mail

The Maronite Church owes its name to an important monastery, Saint Maroun, who received the name in homage to the anchorite Maroun.n61534806305_1539598_8214702

The monk Maroun was born in the forth century. After renouncing the world, he led one of the most austere ascetic lives, in his hermitage and very often in the open air.

Monastic life existed from the beginning of the Church. It is called the “way of Christian perfection”.

The monk Maroun was an ardent follower of Christ, and consumed with enthusiasm for Christian perfection. He renounced the world and its attractions, and hid on one of the mountains in the diocese of Cyr, where he lived in the ruins or an ancient pagan temple, transforming it into a place of prayer and meditation. His reputation soon attracted all those who, equally enthused by Christian perfection, sought a model and an experimented spiritual guide. His disciples were very numerous and his ascetic school was one of the most prosperous. Many people visited him in his hermitage asking help both for corporal as well as spiritual diseases and they were taken care of.

Steve Bracks, the Premier of Victoria is the most recent notable example to join the numbers of Parliamentary representatives of Lebanese orgin in Australian parliaments at present. There has also been other notable figures such as Sam Doumany who was Attorney General and Minister for Justice in Queensland and Dr. Frank Gaha who was Minster for Health in Tasmania and Queenslander Robert Katter was a Federal Minister for the Army.

Sir Nicholas Shehadie and George Joseph were Lord Mayors of, respectively, Sydney and Adelaide. They are among the many members of the Lebanese community who have achieved public office in local government. Currently a list is being compiled for our records.

One interesting figure that we have come across was Anthony Alexander Alam.

According to the Biographical Register of the New South Wales Parliament 1901-1970, Alexander Alam was born in Wallsend in 1896. He was the son of Joseph Alam and Mary Hashem who are described as being "storekeeper and Lebanese migrants".
